Community Centre
I designed the Sighthill Community Centre as a welcoming and adaptable space that brings people together. Rooted in the neighbourhood’s evolving identity, the centre serves as a hub for social interaction, learning, and cultural exchange.
A lightweight timber structure frames open, flexible spaces filled with natural light, fostering a sense of warmth and inclusivity. Large openings connect the interior with the surrounding landscape, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor gathering areas.
Inside, multipurpose halls, workshops, and communal areas encourage diverse activities, from education to creative expression. The design prioritises sustainability, using locally sourced materials and passive environmental strategies to create a resilient and enduring space for the community.
