Studio Apartment
I designed an apartment complex that transforms a small playground into a vibrant, elevated living space, offering young residents an open view of Paris while integrating green spaces into the urban centre. The project reimagines communal living, balancing density with openness to create a dynamic and connected environment.
The building rises above the ground plane, preserving public space while introducing a suspended garden—an elevated sanctuary where residents can gather, relax, and engage with nature. Large openings and terraces frame panoramic city views, enhancing the sense of openness within compact living units. The design prioritises natural light, cross-ventilation, and sustainable materials to foster a comfortable and eco-conscious lifestyle.
More than just housing, this project creates a new urban experience—one that supports young residents with adaptable spaces, social interaction, and a seamless integration of greenery within the heart of Paris.

Architecture Design : Any Place Y2
Mark Cousins & Susana Do Pombal Ferreira
Any Place was the first course in this series to focus specifically on residential architecture. Although I was unable to visit Paris for the site study, designing a residential building in a foreign context required a heightened sensitivity to the needs and lifestyles of its future occupants. Residential architecture is inherently people-centred, aiming to enhance user experience by providing both aesthetic satisfaction and comfort.
Under the guidance of Mark and Susana, I gained valuable insights into the critical considerations necessary to develop a well-rounded architectural proposal. Their input was particularly inspiring, and many of the principles I learned have since influenced my future projects.
While I recognise certain shortcomings in my final proposal, I am reasonably satisfied with the outcome. With further refinement, I believe the project could have been significantly improved. Moving forward, I aim to place greater emphasis on imbuing my designs with stronger character and aesthetic depth, ensuring that they not only meet functional needs but also create meaningful spatial experiences.
